As a hurricane approaches, you may be tempted to lower the water level in your inground pool to prevent overflow.
However, it is important not to drain the pool below the bottom of the skimmer. Lowering your water level even 6-12″ makes your pool subject to floating or popping out of the ground due to lift pressure from excessive groundwater.
